Florida Marlins Minor Leaguer Mike Stanton Hits 5 Homeruns In 2 Days

News

Florida Marlins top Prospect Mike Stanton has been seeing the ball very well the last couple of days hitting two home runs Sunday and adding three more Monday night. Monday’s three taters each went to a different field, right, left, and center.

The three Home Runs raises Stanton’s season total to 9 in only 17 games. He also holds a .338 batting average with a ridiculous 1.282 OPS. Stanton is arguably the top power prospect in the minor leagues and was considered just a notch under the Atlanta Braves uber-prospect Jason Heyward in the spring, so the production is not un-expected. With Chris Coghlan struggling in Florida, Stanton may be a player to watch in fantasy leagues as the season goes on.

Other Minor League news.

The Arizona Diamondbacks voided the contract of Socrates Bristo after he was suspended 50 games for use of PEDs.

New York Mets minor league pitcher Angel Calero was also suspended 50 games for use of PEDs.
