NFL: Brian Cushing May Lose NFL Defensive Rookie Of The Year Award Over Steroid Suspension

The Associated Press will decide Monday night whether or not to change the choice for last year’s defensive rookie of the year award.

Cushing has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season because of a positive test for a performance enhancing drug, Cushing has said it was not steroid related.

The positive test occured in September which leaves the AP with a decision to make about the award. Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd had six votes, Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews had three and Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo had two votes.
