WWE.com reports that Bryan Danielson, a.k.a Daniel Bryan, has been released effective immediately. Of course, they wish him the best in all future endeavors.
The WWE.com item refers to him as “NXT first season rookie”. It also mentions both his real name and WWE name, which leads me to think that this isn’t some sort of attempt to work the fans, but a real dismissal, although there’s nothing I’d love more than to see him invade Raw this coming Monday with the rest of his NXT alumns. Assuming this is legit, this has to be one of the weirdest moves WWE has done in years, and I hope they have a really really really good reason for that.
