Has The Superman Movie Found A Director?

News

Superman Homepage is reporting that Warner Brothers has offered the director role for the upcoming Superman movie to Chris Columbus.

Columbus is best known for the first two Harry Potter films, as well as the original Home Alone movies.

The film will be produced by Batman Begins and Dark Night director Christopher Nolan, with a script by David S. Goyer, who also wrote the Blade movies as well as Batman Begins and Dark Knight.

While Goyer could have also been up for the role as director, the studio insider that presented the news to them had this to say.

“David Goyer really wanted to direct but nobody from either studio think he’s good in that arena. He’s great at coming up with story and ideas, like George Lucas. It’s his execution where he’s weak which is why people like Chris and Jonathan Nolan and Guillermo Del Toro have had the best results with his scripts.”

It is true, his directorial stints have….not been very memorable, but as a writer? Goyer is gold!
