NFL News: Darelle Revis Will Not Hold Out From Training Camp

News

He’s still looking for a new contract, but won’t miss training camp to get it.

The team and Revis haven’t gotten any closer to a contract in the last few weeks, but Revis will be in camp to assure he gets guaranteed money already in his current contract.

Currently Revis can opt out of his contract after the coming season, but the Jets can buy back the last two years of the contract at $5 and $15 million per year guaranteed.

According to Newsday, the Jets have offered Revis two contracts that would add 6 years onto his current deal and pay him over $100 million over the life of the contract, but Revis has rejected both offers. Revis wants to be the highest paid cornerback in the league and both of the Jets offers would leave Nnamdi Asomugha as the highest paid based on yearly salary.
