Zab Judah Impresses On Friday Night Fights

Results

Zab Judah made quick work of the durable Jose Armando Santa Cruz on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Judah caught Santa Cruz with a quick left uppercut in round three that put the Mexican down. Santa Cruz beat the count but crumbled into the ropes upon the restart of the fight, prompting referee Benjy Estevez to stop the fight. Official time was 2:33 of round three.

Zab Judah (39-6, 27 KOs) described himself as being more focused and more mature at this point in his life and in his career, although the Zab of old was still present as he danced back to the corner after the knockdown in the third. At 32 years old, Judah believes he can be a player in the light welterweight division. He called out the top names like Tim Bradley, Amir Khan, and Devon Alexander.
