Speculation has been growing throughout the day in the UK that WBA Heavyweight Champion David Haye is preparing to confirm that he will next defend his championship against Audley Harrison. Around lunchtime today British time, the BBC carried a breaking news announcement on its sports website’s ticker that the two were likely to fight in November. That was quickly pulled and the BBC has since limited itself to saying on its radio stations that the two camps have been in talks. With the BBC’s strange shyness about expanding on its story and the fact that Haye will tomorrow end his uncharacteristic media silence with a big weekend of public appearances it seems likely that an announcement is imminent.
