MLB News: Dan Haren Injured In First Start For Angels

News

Not exactly the perfect way to start with your new team.

Haren had to leave his start in the 5th inning after being hit in the forearm by a Kevin Youkilis line drive. The team is calling the injury a bruise, but aren’t making any definite plans for Haren to make his next scheduled start.

“Sometimes, these things heal quickly,” Angels Manager Mike Scioscia said. “It doesn’t seem like it got much of the bone. It looks like it was soft tissue, but I’ll let Dr. Yocum and the medical staff determine what the extent might be.”

Haren pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs, 7 hits and struck out 8 batters.
