So apparently in an effort to promote Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Universal approached Adult Swim about making something related to the film. They wound up animating a piece from the comics that didn’t make it into the movie that not only did Universal get behind, but so did Bryan Lee O’Malley (creator of Scott Pilgrim) and Edgar Wright (director of the movie).
So now we have Scott Pilgrim vs The Animation, a four minute short that shows the origins of the friendship between Scott and Kim Pine. And it’s set to air on Thursday August 12th, between 12 and 12:30 am where it will be broken up and aired between the commercial bumps. It will be available in full the next day on Adult Swim’s website, as well as their facebook page and Scott Pilgrim’s facebook page.
Oh, and the cast of the film is doing the voice acting.
