Auditions Open For Marvel Movie Based On Runaways By Brian K. Vaughan

News

Set to begin filming in January, an open casting call has been announced to find the cast for this movie that I never thought would see the light of day. Seriously, I love Runaways, but I never thought this movie would get this far into production.

For those not in the know, Runaways is the story of six kids who find out that their parents are a group of super villains known as the Pride, and then promptly…run away. Each has their own unique abilities that link them to the legacy of their parents, and they set out to stop their parents from doing their evil deeds. I won’t say too much for the sake of those of you who still owe it to yourselves to read it, but anyone who’s read it knows that the book is just gold. It should make an awesome movie.

Despite that the auditions site has the movie listed as “Small Faces”, that’s reportedly just the project name being used to keep the call discrete.

Runaways will be directed by Peter Sollett (Nick And Nora’s Infinite Playlist) from a script by Drew Pearce and Vaughan. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will serve as executive producer.
