Disney Options Cowboy Ninja Viking Comic Book

News, Projects

Disney has purchased a feature film pitch for Cowboy Ninja Viking from Zombieland screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The graphic novel by AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo was published in 2009 from Image Comics.

The movie will feature a multiple personality disorder patient who is trained to be a government-sponsored assassin with three different skill sets (and the personalities that accompany them). He must then use his skills to take down the organization that created him.

Wernick & Rheese have also recently wrote a sequel to 2009’s hit horror comedy Zombieland and a script for a Deadpool movie that would see the wisecracking assassin character played by Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Wolverine spin-off into his own movie. Zombieland 2 should go into production next year with original film director Ruben Fleischer returning to shoot the sequel in 3D. Deadpool is currently awaiting a director.
