Results

Juan Manuel Lopez retained his featherweight title when Rafael Marquez retired after eight thrilling rounds. Lopez made Marquez look every bit of his 35 years of age for most of the fight. Marquez staged a couple thrilling combacks during the fight that spurred on the pro-Mexican crowd but ultimately retired after the eighth round claiming a shoulder injury. Lopez was deducted a point in the fourth round for hitting behind the head.

On the undercard, Glen Johnson stopped Allan Green in the 8th round to advance to the semifinals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. Johnson was pressuring and had Green hurt a few times at the end of rounds but never got over the hump until the 8th. Johnson appeared to hit Green behind the head for the knockdown but it was ruled a clean shot.
