Jamie Dundee Discusses Backstage Heat, ECW and WWE

News

Hide your kids. Hide your wife. Why? Because we’re welcoming the controversial Jamie “JC Ice” Dudee for a shocking uncut shoot interview with James Guttman right now on ClubWWI.com … and this is one you need to see for yourself.

Jamie Dundee doesn’t shoot on people. He shoots people…right between the eyes. He’s heading to the upcoming Legends of Wrestling Showdown on November 10th in Evansville, Indiana (information: JamieDundee.com) but first he’s going Clubbin’ with us. And you can experience the J.C. Ice Experience firsthand with a 32 minute shoot interview transcript that’s far beyond anything PG-13. Whether a follower of WWF, WCW, ECW, USWA, or even The Jerry Springer Show, you know Jamie’s work. Now read about it all from the man himself right now in the first ever interview transcript to ever appear on ClubWWI. For a full list of topics, head to:

Jamie Dundee is no stranger to controversy. In fact, when James Guttman started the ClubWWI.com interview, he mentioned that Dundee’s reputation had preceded him. Jamie laughed and agreed that people know all about who he is and there’s never any wonder about what JC Ice is thinking about you. JG points out how Jamie’s approach to people differs from many others in the wrestling business. Dundee agrees:

“I always hated that. Guys saying, “I love you, brother. I love you.” That’s just for everybody and then they don’t give a flying f*** for anyone. Like you said, I say it like I see it. I say what most people think. People will think, “Oh God. That’s a terrible f***ing outfit.” I’ll just say, “Oh my God. That is a f***ing terrible outfit.” (laughs) You should just think it, but that’s not my fault. I’ve been that way my whole life. Take it or leave it.”

Surprisingly, though, with such a straight shooting style, Jamie managed to find work in WCW, WWF, ECW, and many more places outside of the USWA…even the Jerry Springer Show! He discusses that on about all those experiences on ClubWWI including the development of the PG-13 gimmick, the wrestler who came up with it, harsh words for Jeff Jarrett’s promos, the four rap videos he did…even though he hated rap, the reason he didn’t roll from the ring after his Road Warriors bump at WrestleMania (and Hawk’s hilarious reaction), and more.

The big question, though, is how did Jamie handle being around so many stars with the “I love you, brother” attitude? Was it hard for him to be around people who maybe weren’t as blunt and went around practicing politics? He explains and even references a story that last week’s Club guest, Jose Lothario, brought up.

“Not for me, because I guess they knew I didn’t give a f***. I didn’t care what they thought of me because of the way I get by, which in a lot of ways is wrong. My father hired most of the guys and got them where they are. So to me they weren’t s**t. Without my family, they wouldn’t be nothing anyway. Without the Lawlers, Dundees, Eatons, paving the way, they wouldn’t be nothing. And I saw it that way. Shawn Michaels’s first job was hired through my dad (Superstar Bill Dundee)in Mid-South. Jose Lothario brought him to my dad. So none of them are stars. My dad is a bigger star than any of them can be. There just wasn’t national TV. See what I mean? I went there with the wrong attitude. I went to all the companies. The way I saw it, they called me. I didn’t call them. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed it and got money. That’s more than most people will ever get to say.”

Jamie’s stories aren’t just limited to heat, though. He talks about connecting with a crowd and the fierce loyalty of longtime USWA fans. From his feud with his father succeeding where David vs. Ric Flair didn’t in WCW to the injury angle with Sid, Dundee explains how the crowd played a part in all that. It’s something he thought about each time he wrestled and something he put thought into when working with Wolfie D on PG-13. That’s why he hears so often about Public Enemy. Although different in size than PG-13, Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge had gimmicks that seemed rather similar – right down to the theme song. Guttman asks about the P.E. and Dundee explains why the gimmick seemed to stick in his craw a bit to ClubWWI.com members:

“ECW, that’s what they did. They took talent and ribbed it. ECW called us about coming in and we were young. (USWA’s) Randy Hale came up and said, “Well, we can offer you this.” He did the loyalty thing. “Oh we need you to stay in Memphis.” So we did and ECW made Public Enemy. I’m not saying they made Public Enemy because we didn’t go. But all of a sudden there was a Public Enemy. So it was like they were saying, “F*** you. We’ll make them.” And I liked Public Enemy. I really wished somewhere it would have become PG-13 vs. Public Enemy.”

Jamie Dundee goes onto explain why that never happened and tons more in the 32 minute shoot transcript – the first in ClubWWI.com history.
