Oldboy Director To Make English-Language Debut With Carey Mulligan

News, Projects

Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy) is in talks to directo Stoker, an English-language drama about a young woman whose eccentric uncle returns to her life after the death of her father.

The script is written by Prison Break star Wentworth Miller is the project is being produced by Ridley and Tony Scott’s production company. Carey Mulligan is attached to play the young woman with Jodie Foster co-starring in the film.

There doesn’t appear to be any genre-heavy elements to the story. Park is perhaps most famous for his Vengeance Trilogy of movies which include Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance. His latest film, Thirst, mixed the vampire genre with religious overtones.
