Hours after it was announced the new coach wouldn’t be Les Miles, the actual new coach was named.

The University of Michigan announced that former San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke would be the next head coach of the Wolverines.

Hoke was a defensive line coach for the Wolverines in the late 90’s, including the 1997 National Championship run. Hoke has been a head coach at Ball State and San Diego State for the last 8 seasons.

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Brady,” Michigan AD Dave Brandon said. “He is a terrific coach and will be a great ambassador and leader for our football program. We look forward to having him build a championship program on the field and in the classroom.”
