WBC Champion Carl Froch spoke to BBC Radio Five Live about his upcoming Super Six Semi-Final against Glen Johnson. Froch said the fight would take place on May 21st and that he is fighting to get it take place in England. While admitted that securing home advantage would be a challenge given his contract with Showtime he pointed out that his home country fans have only got to see him fight in the Super Six once and that fight against Andre Dirrell was delayed until 3am to appease the American cable network. There have been rumors that Froch will face Johnson in Quebec, possibly as a co-feature underneath a Lucian Bute title fight.
In other Super Six news, the status of the other semi-final has been thrown into date with the announcement that Arthur Abraham is to take an interim fight outside the tournament on a Sauerland event on February 12th. There has been talked that Abraham’s camp is struggling to reach a deal with Andre Ward over the location of their bout. So far every Andre Ward fight has taken place in his home state of California whereas nobody else has had more than one home fight.
