DC Comics Announces Their Free Comic Book Day Title

News

So every year on the first Saturday of May is Free Comic Book Day, and it’s pretty awesome. It gives store a chance to not only do something cool for their established customer base, but also to try and draw in new readers by offering a free first entry into the world of comics. Not to mention that all the big comics companies have an issue or two that they put out for it. Last year, for instance, DC released War of the Supermen #0 while Marvel released Iron Man/Thor. A few years back though, DC launched Blackest Night through a Free Comic Book Day zero issue, and this year it looks to be another event starter.

DC’s entry this year? Green Lantern/Flashpoint: Special Edition. The issue will reprint Green Lantern #30, from the Secret Origin arc, as well as feature an exclusive preview of Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert’s upcoming Flashpoint event (which starts in May). This is apparently going to be the first Flashpoint preview, as opposed to teaser, so DC is just trying to make readers squirm in anticipation.
