How I Met Your Mother is nearly unmatched when it comes to stretching a gag across an entire episode, and “Oh Honey” is no exception. With an elaborate phone set-up of the characters calling each other, referencing others, and Marshall as the central hub, the episode sets itself apart from the pack.
Katy Perry is the newest of the hot famous girl stunt-casting, and does the job exactly as she’s supposed to–look pretty and speak a couple lines. The usage with the phone gag, having her reappearing at random parts of the episode, was quite effective.
“Oh Honey” ends with a kiss, and so Ted embarks on yet another romance. After six seasons of love and heartbreak, will Zoey become the Mother, or will she fall to the wayside like those before her? And if she isn’t the Mother, when the hell are the writers going to included her?
