Inside MMA is reporting that current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem has been cut from the promotion following his withdrawal from the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix. This is also coming off the news that he would be fighting in October on a United Glory card.
Apparently Overeem’s injury problems, which he blamed on a toe injury, were more serious than he had let on. HD Net is reporting that according to the source, Overeem has been dealing with more serious injuries than originally reported including a broken toe, broken rib and elbow problems.
