DC Comics Relaunch: Check out the 4 covers of Justice League #1 by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee

News

This month’s Justice League #1 marks the beginning of DC Relaunch. To celebrate, the book will have four different covers. Check em out.

Standard cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams:

The original version of this cover they showed a while back, Hal wasn’t wearing his ring.  It was supposedly an inking or coloring issue.  I wonder if that was a clue to the end of War of the Green Lanterns.  Just an aside, at SDCC, it was revealed that “Yes, there is a Green Lantern on Justice League once the story catches up to current continuity, and no it’s not Hal.” And I can’t help but admire the size of Hal’s gun.

And Wonder Woman ditched the pants.  Kind of a shame, I liked the way the costume looked with the long blue pants. Oh well, fanboys need their Wonder Woman legs.

David Finch Variant Covers

I don’t know how these are broken down, but the solicitation says the variant cover is 1:25. Not sure how that works with the two covers.

I think the color image looks way too dark, but the penciled version looks terrific. Superman kind of looks like a puppet master, I wonder if that is intentional or not. I love that Wonder Woman is front and center. But what happened to Cyborg? He’s Sir Not Appearing On This Cover.

Combo Pack Cover

This is the version that comes polybagged with download code for the digital edition. Same cover as the standard, just with an orange background instead of the blue. It actually does look a lot crisper on the orange background.

All four covers should be available on August 31.
