NYCC: DC Comics Announce New Green Arrow Writer

News

With JT Krul leaving Green Arrow after three issues, and Dan Jurgens and Keith Giffen stepping in to fill in for a few issues, DC has gone ahead and announced the new full time writer to debut with issue number seven.

Ann Nocenti, known for writing titles such as Daredevil (from 1986 until 1991) and the Vertigo title Kid Eternity back in 1994, is returning to comics to write the book. She makes plenty of jokes about being the token female due to the criticism about a lack of female creators at DC.

She also promises to bring a new character to Green Arrow’s rogue gallery that is in line with one of her most famous Daredevil creations…Typhoid Mary. So a villain that can double as Ollie’s girlfriend, and Nocenti reveals that she’s just going to be the first in a series of additions to Ollie’s rogues gallery.

A lifelong reader and self proclaimed continuity guru, Grey is the Editor in Chief of Comics Nexus. Known for his love of Booster Gold, Spider-Girl (the real one), Stephanie Brown, and The Boys. Don't miss The Gold Standard.
