The X Factor 2011 Top 4 Review: My Power Rankings Of The Top 4 Contestants

Reviews, Top Story

1. Josh Krajcik – With Rachel Crow mercifully being eliminated last week (thank you Nicole Scherzinger), I was happy with the performers left in the competition. In tonight’s semifinal, I thought Josh stole the show. Both of his performances were flawless and heading into the finale next week, I like where he is in the competition. When the live shows started, Josh was my pick to win and I am pretty happy with only three episodes left. His take on “Hallelujah” was particularly good.

2. Melanie Amaro – Another strong showing from from Melanie this week as the last girl standing looks to be a lock for the finale. Simon Cowell’s spin on “Feelin Good” was particularly noteworthy.

3. Chris Rene – It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Chris Rene is at his best when he is rapping. While I liked his cover of Sugar Ray’s “Fly,” I was especially pleased that LA Reid minimized his piano playing in “No One.” It did, however, highlight that Chris’ main strength is how he connects with the audience moreso than his actual vocal ability.

4. Marcus Canty – See ya.

I will be live at the finale next week!
