The Office Episode 8-20 Review: Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Reviews, Shows

It’s never a good sign when I have to force myself to pay attention to a show, and that’s where I am with The Office. I don’t think I’ll be watching next season, and I’m not sure I’ll even blog the rest of this season. There are only so many ways you can say “This show isn’t as good as it used to be,” aren’t there?

So in this episode, Andy had to try and break up with Jessica after getting back together with Erin and Robert California forced the office to throw Nellie a welcome party, which they sabotaged.

Jim got to know Nellie and her sad romantic history a little, so he tried to call the Mean Girls thing off – it was too late, though. Everyone was already using “Pam” as an uncomfortable code name for Nellie and making toasts about how much they hate her.

Sigh. This show just isn’t doing it for me. I’ll keep watching and check back in with y’all at the finale, but for now it’s being relegated to non-blogged, lazy Saturday morning DVR’d TV.

My favorite quote from the episode, courtesy of Dwight: “I wonder if King-sized sheets are presidential-sized in England. I should have a tweeter account.”

Despite that setback, she grew up to be a television aficionado and pop culture addict.
