Earlier this week, PWTorch.com reported that CM Punk may face Mick Foley on the TLC PPV next month but officials are concerned that Foley might not be up to performing in the main event of a WWE PPV.
Foley versus Punk may be a non-title match in order to bridge to the Rock’s title match, unless Punk loses the belt this weekend to either Ryback or John Cena.
Two different paths are projected for the next few months. One sees Punk retaining his title until the Royal Rumble, where The Rock would defeat him and either face John Cena in a WrestleMania rematch or have a WWE title rematch with Punk at WrestleMania. The second plan sees Cena winning the championship before the Rumble, The Rock would beat him for the title (with or without a Punk run in) and then the Rock versus Punk would main event WrestleMania.
