Kelvin Gastelum vs. Court McGee added to UFC On FOX 9

News

The ever-rapidly growing UFC On FOX 9 fight card has seen another addition in the form of two winners of “The Ultimate Fighter”.

Season 17 champion Kelvin Gastelum (7-0, 2-0 UFC) will take on season 11 winner Court McGee (16-3, 5-2 UFC) in a welterweight bout at the Dec. 14 event that takes place in Sacramento, California. FOX Deportes first reported the bout.

Gastelum and McGee both competed on last month’s UFC Fight Night 27 event, and both took home wins. Gastelum scored a first-round submission win over Brian Melancon while McGee scored a split decision win over another “TUF” winner, Robert Whittaker. Both have won two straight UFC fights, and Gastelum has won seven straight overall to start his career.

Both men won their respective seasons of “TUF” as middleweights but have dropped down to the 170-pound division. McGee will be fighting for the third time in the UFC as a welterweight while it’ll be Gastelum’s second UFC welterweight bout.

UFC On FOX 9 takes place from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento and will air on FOX with prelims being split between FOX Sports 1 and Facebook.
