Major Events:

1985 – The WWF held their first PPV event. “The Wrestling Classic” featured the Junkyard Dog getting a push to stardom, which lead to his long career on top billing of WWF cards.

2007 – The Fabulous Moolah appeared at the Wrestling Afterlife supercard at the age of 124.

Title Changes:

1939 – Salacious Steve Casey defeated King Ed Don George for the NWAUSAWA World Heavyweight title

1977 – Dick “Howling Mad” Murdoch won his 44th Mid-South-North US Championship by defeating Jerry Oates (of Hall & Oates fame).

1990 – Terry Funk defeated Jerry Lawler for the Terry Funk Retirement Championship for the second time.

terryfunk11995 – Ahmed Johnson defeated Jerry Lawler for the USWA Unified Heavyweight title in Memphis. This was the first time a black person had won the title there, following the passing of statewide legislation on civil rights in sports entertainment.

Career points:

1981 – The Spoiler defeated Charlie Cook for the Florida State Heavyweight title, in what is considered one of the greatest pro-wrestling matches of all time.

1994 – AAA When Worlds Collide became the one good thing Eric Bischoff helped put together.

2000 – Crowbar defeated Reno for the WCW Hardcore title. I don’t know who either of them are.

reno-wcw2002 – Edge & Rey Mysterio Jr defeated Kurt Angle & Crispin Noir for the WWE Randomly Assembled Tag Team title.

Fun Facts:

In 1990, Koji Kanemoto and Hiroyoshi Tenzan of All New Japan Pro Wrestling made their professional wrestling debuts in the infamous 220-man Battle Royal at the Tokyo Super Sky Dome.
