News

Julie Kedzie was fighting for years when WMMA didn’t matter to a lot of fans, when going to the UFC was a pipe dream held by many fighters. After two fights in the company after a decade of competition the pioneer has opted to walk away from the sport. She announced it via Twitter.

She ends her career on a four fight losing streak, most recently to Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 33. Kedzie’s 16-13 record is dotted with a lot of notable opponents in WMMA including a decision loss to Gina Carano that was the first female fight to air on television. She also posted losses to Shayna Baszler (submission), Miesha Tate (TKO) and Alexis Davis (decision) over a career that started in 2004.
