When we last saw Thor (at the end of The Avengers), he was on his way to take his brother Loki back to Asgard. But where one problem ends another begins. In Thor: The Dark World, the Mighty Avenger tangles with just that. Well, it’s actually a villain named Malekith, who seems like an also-ran in the story, when compared to the likes of Loki. (Actually, instead of calling it Thor: The Dark World, a better title would have been “Loki: Thy Kingdom Come.” Oops, did I need to include a spoiler alert? Whoops.)
Marvel will have a number of ways in which to view Thor: The Dark World.
You’ll be able to bring it home as a 3D Combo Pack and HD Digital beginning February 4th, 2014. Twenty-one days after that (February 25), the film will be made available as a single-disc Blu-ray, DVD, and via On Demand.
For the Blu-ray, it will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital audio.
In terms of supplemental material, it will include the following extras.

- Exclusive Look – Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- Get an exclusive first look at the latest installment in the Captain America franchise and it’s incredible cast of characters, including Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Director Nick Fury, Chris Evans, our hero Steve Rogers, his new ally Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon played by Anthony Mackie, and a mysterious enemy from the past…the Winter Soldier played by Sebastian Stan.
