WWE.com is reporting that former Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett underwent successful surgery Tuesday in Birmingham, Alabama.
They wrote:
“Bad News Barrett went under the knife on Tuesday to repair his injured shoulder, suffered when he was thrown into a barricade by Jack Swagger on the June 27 edition of SmackDown. The surgery was performed by Dr. Jeff Dugas in Birmingham.
“Bad News Barrett underwent a ligament reconstruction in his shoulder, as well as a distal clavicle resection, where the end of the collar-bone is shaved off,” WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann said. “The operation went very well, he’s resting comfortably.””
There’s no word on when Barrett will be cleared to return to action but this was obviously a more intensive surgery than the originally reported separated shoulder injury.
