Dana White Responds To Nate Diaz, Says Diaz’s Shaming Of Donald Cerrone On Twitter Is Off-Base

News, Top Story

Nate Diaz has always been known for talking a big game and selling his fights with both his mouth and his fists. This time, he has raised the ire of UFC Prez Dana White.

On Tuesday, Diaz had some choice words for Cowboy Donald Cerrone in advance of his dominating win against Jim Miller at Fight Night Atlantic City.

UFC President Dana White said that the comments were wrong and talked about the extreme professionalism Cerrone brings with him.

“Nate can do whatever he wants to do. Nate can sit out and not suck any UFC whatever, for as long as he wants to. Who cares, he’s a grown man,” White said. “Sit out for as long as you want, sit out the rest of your career, it’s your decision. But to start making fun of guys who actually like to fight, and guys who go out there and put on unbelievable fights and people love to see him? (Cowboy) steps up and does what he does. People love Cowboy Cerrone.”

White also had choice words of his own for Diaz and said that the best way to make money in the sport, is in the Octagon itself.

“Nate wants to talk about making money, but there’s only one way to make money, and that’s fighting.”
