Junior Dos Santos Challenged Again By Stipe Miocic

News

Stipe Miocic doesn’t give up easily.

The heavyweight contender was scheduled to face Junior dos Santos on May 31 in Brazil, but the former champion had to pull himself from the fight because of a broken hand.

Instead, the UFC fed Fabio Maldonado to Miocic on a silver platter as the light heavyweight-turned-heavyweight was no match for the Cleveland fighter.

According to MMAFighting.com, with no new opponents on the horizon, it appears Miocic still wants a piece of dos Santos. The problem is that both fighters would like the match to happen in the U.S. and with Vitor Belfort recently announced at Chris Weidman’s opponent in December, the logical spot for a proposed Miocic/dos Santos fight would be at UFC 179. The problem? UFC 179 is currently booked for Brazil so a Brazilian headliner would need to be added to the card.
