Alexander Gustafsson says that he is prepared to wait three years to get a rematch against Jon Jones.

The light heavyweight contender who has been shelved due to injury recent spoke to Sweden’s SPORT-Expressen to discuss the situation that has seen Daniel Cormier replace him as the #1 contender.

“I can wait three years if they guarantee me a title match in Sweden,” Gustafsson said on social media. “Then it all does not matter.”

The Swedish publication is reporting that the UFC has expressed an interesting in holding a PPV-event at Friends Arena in Sweden next summer and have been scouting the venue for months.

“It feels like it’s within reach. With good support from home, it can definitely happen. Getting to meet the “pound for pound” best in the world at Friends would be a dream. There is absolutely nothing that can beat it,” said Gustafsson.
