Urijah Faber Opens Up About Why He Accepted Match Against Rivera, Says He is ‘Moat’ For King Dillashaw

In Brazil to help teammmate Chad Mendes prepare for his fight against Jose Aldo, Urijah Faber talked to the local media about a variety of topics including why he accepted match against Francisco Rivera.

“This guy is very tough,” Faber said. “He comes with heavy punches, he’s got a great record and is a skilled guy, so I’m looking forward to a pretty tough fight.”

In addition, the ‘California Kid’ also talked about he almost serves as protection for teammate and current champion T.J. Dillashaw.

“I’ve fought most of the Top 10. I’m kind of like the moat around the castle right now for T.J., who is sitting as the king. I’m OK with that.”
