Lucha Underground could have a new lead announcer later in 2015.
On his podcast, Konnan talked about Ross being negotiated with to take over announcing duties on the show. The current announcers are Matt Striker and Vampiro. Ross recently worked with Striker on the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom show.
While Ross isn’t a great fit for Lucha Underground, he would be a big star to add to the mix. Ross specializes in play by play and telling the story in the ring, and some of the Lucha Underground matches veer more towards spot fests.
Lucha Underground thinks that the tradeoff of style clashes is worth it as Ross is really the voice of the generation that grew up watching wrestling.
