JR Blog: Super Bowl XLIX, Continuing Roman Reigns Controversy, Bubba Dudley, the One Thing Missing In WWE

News

Jim Ross checked in with a Monday blog, here are some highlights.

on Super Bowl XLIX
Hope that you were on the right side of the Super Bowl as I picked the Pats but was pulling for Seattle. Not sure how many more SB’s New England has left in them specifically at QB with Brady getting older but Seattle, if they can keep their nucleus in tact should be a player for years to come especially if QB Russell Wilson signs a new deal and continues to grow as a player. Belichick likes to reload and their drafting and free agent system is one of the NFL’s best but one doesn’t easily replace a Tom Brady when that fateful day arrives.

on Roman Reigns
Some never say die fans are still complaining about Roman Reigns winning the Royal Rumble but I’d guess by next week it won’t be such a big deal to the vocal minority. None of us know what shape of the WM31 card is going to resemble in it’s final rendition. I’m happy to wait and see as I can’t affect the card any more than anyone reading this.

From a creative standpoint, I could easily see Bubba Dudley returning to WWE if for no other reason to allow Bubba to work with the younger talents on the road at live events. Young talents cannot improve working with those who have the same or less than them skill sets.

on the One Thing Missing In WWE
What’s arguably the biggest thing missing in the pro wrestling business today? For my money it is talents riding town to town on 5-7 day tours once or twice a month and the fact that each young wrestler needs a mentor. Too many young wrestlers think that they know all the tricks of the trade especially ring psychology when in fact many haven’t a clue….of course that opinion would be inaccurate if all the talents were paid by the bump or ‘THIS IS AWESOME” chants.
