It was an eventful edition of Monday Night Raw.
In a shocking show-closing storyline on WWE Monday Night Raw for January 4, 2016, Vince McMahon announced that Roman Reigns would be entered into the 2016 Royal Rumble, and the WWE World Heavyweight Title would be on the line.
The main event of Raw saw Roman Reigns put the title on the line against Sheamus with McMahon acting as special referee. After numerous pinfalls that Vince refused to count the pin for Reigns, Roman gave Vince the superman Punch.
A wild array of referees, Sheamus, Stephanie and Vince still ended up with Reigns getting the pinfall victory.
So after the match, Vince took the mic and made the major announcement.
