Fandom is still buzzing about Marvel Comics’ Captain America as Captain Hydra in Secret Empire. Well, if you want a truly patriotic hero, the Fighting American is returning.
Slight spoilers follow.
Titans Comics will launch a new Fighting American series in October 2017. The character and series, created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, picks up where the original series ended in 1954. It will be written by Gordon Rennie with art by Duke Mighten.
Writer Gordon is excited about the book. “It’s been great working on a character created by two such legendary comic talents, especially in this, Jack Kirby’s centenary year. Hopefully, he and Joe Simon would enjoy finding out how their Fighting American from the 1950s fits into our modern and more cynical world.”
Joe Simon would have been 104 this year if still alive while Jack Kirby would have been 100.
