DVD Review – Homeland (Season 7)

If you were in a coma after the end of Homeland’s first season, and woke up now you’d think they made two separate shows under the same name.

The first three seasons mirror the Israeli show which it was based on; a soldier (Damian Lewis) captured by terrorists is rescued and comes back into the world he left behind. The twist was that he may or may not have switched sides while in captivity, which a CIA agent (Claire Danes) has to figure out whether or not he’s bent.

In the film’s seventh season, Homeland is now about the world of counterterrorism and espionage as opposed to being about the dynamic of a soldier coming back … but not really coming back, per se.

This season deals with the ramifications of the assassination plot of season six; Clair, Saul and the gang battle the incumbent president for the massive arrests of the intelligence community involved in last season’s terror plot.

It’s solid, quality television but isn’t anything to rush out to see either.

Nothing significant.
