The second of the Amalgam Avengers Blade wearing Boy-Thing (essentially a young Man-Thing) armor actually pierces the Silver Surfer: Black despite his Power Cosmic.
The battle continues, but Silver Surfer: Black was not able to stop the rebirth of the Starbrand.
Surfer’s former Galactus Herald allies, Firelord and Terrax, are also trying to prevent the Starbrand rebirth by taking on their own Avengers heroes in Captain Marvel and She-Hulk respectively.
Elsewhere Captain America continues to try to reason with the third of the Amalgam Avengers in the form of Thor who has consumed by alien parasite race the Brood.
Well, Cap is successful and Brood Thor joins his Avengers teammates in their battle with the former Heralds of Galactus.
Finally, Gladiator of the Shi’ar Imperial Guard has tracked down the reborn Starbrand…
…and due to the recent destruction of plan…
…condemns both the pregnant human and her unborn child, effectively both the new hosts of the Starbrand, to death?!
We then get a look at the next issue in Avengers #30.

Sci-fi fun, solid story, cool Amalgam Avengers moments versus united Heralds of Galactus, capped up by a surprise cliffhanger. A fun issue. 9.5 out of 10.
