The book opens with the Joker driving around Gotham City surveying the chaos as we also see how lethal new anti-hero vigilante Clownhunter is.

This is Joker’s city now as he is driven by someone named Abe to Ace Chemicals where he felt into a vat years ago and became the Joker.

Joker and Punchline connect by phone and she fills him on Batman escaping and her anger that she wanted to do more to him.

The Joker arrives at Ace Chemical and inexplicably starts killing his henchmen in a very Jack Nicholson as Joker kind of cinematic way.

Elsewhere, unites the troops – explaining Batwoman is elsewhere doing important work – and Tim Drake is again in a new Robin like costume, but he is Red Robin again not Robin despite Damian Wayne giving up the mantle of Robin, seemingly, earlier.

They’re ready to take back Gotham City and…

…Batman needs Nightwing to be himself again.

Batman arrives at Ace Chemical and…

…is greeting by Alfred Pennyworth’s Joker toxin animated corpse as…

…the Joker has made Pennyworth’s ideal Batman armor his own!

The Pulse:

A lot going on as he head into Batman #100. This could have been dizzying, but it was a rip-roaring ride. Excellent art. Entertaining. 9 out of 10.
