DEATHSTROKE VS. BLACK CANARY!

Now that they know the truth about the secretive T.R.U.S.T. organization, Black Canary and Deathstroke are at odds over what to do about it. But before they can set aside their hatred for each other, they are attacked by an army of the DC Universe’s deadliest villains!

Business does pick up this issue.

We learn that Deathstroke and Black Canary have a long storied history including the DC new 52’s Team 7 days.

In modern day they battle, but Deathstroke tells Black Canary that the Legion of Doom’s Cheetah spilled the beans to him on T.R.U.S.T.’s true mission.

Turns out Black Canary wasn’t in on it and admits she was a mole sent by Oracle to determine what’s what as Libra is involved.

Deathstroke and Black Canary call a trust to dupe…

…TRUST head Juliette; they meet her and kid Toyman Hiro, but…

…the Legion of Doom attack…

…hurting Deathstroke and killing Juliette?!

All is not as it seems as the LOD was never there and Juliette isn’t dead; it’s all been Dr. Destiny’s manipulations aided by…

…Prometheus.

Add to that Juliette as the new Libra, a wounded Deathstroke and Black Canary appears overmatched; Libra has a plan for them involving saving the multiverse as…

…they are sent to the plane with the Crooked House where…

…Deathstroke dies from his injuries?!

The Pulse:

Business really picked up this issue. Reveals, swerves and action. A very satisfying read storywise. Nice to see the New 52 Team 7 acknowledged too. The art though as dynamic in some points and choppy in others; an inconsistent effort, sadly. For that reason, the book is 6.5 out of 10.
