Featuring stories by an all-star lineup of creators including writers Kieron Gillen and Gerry Duggan and artist Dustin Weaver, FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: AVENGERS/X-MEN #1 will lay the groundwork for an event that will erupt across the Marvel Universe in 2022 and drastically alter the relationship between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and mutantkind.

In addition to the X-Men event Hellfire Gala 2022 pages featuring a prominent Amazing Spider-man cast member and an old/new X-Men villain (full spoilers here) there’s even more to the issue.

Even bringing this to the attention of the pre-historic Avengers and noting that the mutates must die.

What changed in the present?

The immortality of the X-Men and mutants have been them god-like at the level of the Eternals, but there is still not a consensus about whether Mutants are Deviants.

However, the hype for Judgment Days says otherwise.

Extermination is teased.

War is guaranteed.

Judgment Day is upon us.
