The Six Million Dollar Man was the ultimate TV show in the mid-70s. Steve Austin (Lee Majors) starts the series as a hotshot astronaut who has a serious setback when he crashes and suffers a major loss of limbs. But the US government makes him even cooler by giving him robotic legs, an arm and eye. He’s bionic which means he’s stronger, faster and better than before the wreck. There’s a price to pay when the government spends six million bucks on a person. Steve Austin goes from being an astronaut and test pilot to a secret agent for OSI. Oscar Goldman (Richard Anderson) sends him around the world on serious missions. The series started off with three TV movies that pulled in serious ratings in 1973. This led to a series in 1974 that lasted 5 seasons. It also launched the Bionic Woman spin-off with Jamie Summers (Lindsay Wagner) needing surgery after a disaster while hanging out with Steve. Now all the TV movies, episodes and Bionic Woman crossover episodes are getting upgraded to Blu-ray. The Six Million Dollar Man: The Complete Series will bring the man of tomorrow to a higher resolution. Shout! Factory has just announced the bonus features when the boxset arrives in July.
