In the wake of one of the most visceral DAREDEVIL, nay, MARVEL stories EVER, the Marvel Universe’s New York City stands remade and reforged — if not in Wilson Fisk’s image, then at the very least in his spirit!
After a battle that nearly tore the city and its citizens apart, New York’s super heroes have no choice but to try to adapt to the new and dangerous paradigm they find themselves operating under — with eight million people turned against them!

We open with the revelation that the Kingpin and Typhoid Mary are likely be sheltered in Doctor Doom’s Latveria.

Then we pivot to the public funeral of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, but it’s really his brother Mike Murdock.

That revelation angers Kingpin’s son Butch Pharris – not be confused with Richard Fisk aka Rose, who has replaced his dad as Kingpin, as he and Mike Murdock were best friends.

We then get a tease of the upcoming Daredevil series where Daredevil and Elektra will seemingly go after The Hand putting them on a collision course with the Punisher who now leads the ninja clan.

Former Mayor Wilson Fisk’s Thunderbolts remain corrupt and despite new Mayor Luke Cage’s desire to have them gone it is not that easy to achieve it would appear.

The first story ends with Mayor Cage and Jessica Jones seemingly adopting two of the Purple Man’s kids?

The next story…

…sets up the upcoming Thunderbolt series.

The last story includes a cool page that summarizes Luke Cage’s history.

It also includes his impassioned commitment to New York City as its Mayor.

Will Luke Cage be able to commit to being a full-time Mayor when he is still tempted or obligated, pick your word, to be a super-hero protector of the people?

The Pulse:

An interesting table is set story-wise for NYC. I am intrigued. 7.5 out of 10.
