The sinister machinations of the devil Nezha have run ragged the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight ever since he made his first terrifying debut in Detective Comics #1050…but what secrets does this villain hold for the future of the DCU? Clues abound for the next big DCU series in this climactic final chapter to the first arc of World’s Finest!

We get a recap of the plan to trap the Devil Nezha.

Looks like’s vulnerable to science is not aware of from his earlier century of existence.

That means the Doom Patrol’s tech, via Robotman Cliff Steele, and Superman’s Kryptonian can do him harm.

Superman sacrifices himself to seal the Devil Nezha in his mystical prison; it needs to be sealed from the inside.

Batman notices Superman’s Phantom Zone Projector is missing.

He realizes Superman created a backdoor so-to-speak to escape Nezha’s prison after sealing him in.

It works, but now they need to find Dick Grayson Robin as Supergirl noted she lost him in the timestream.

The book ends with a modern day tease of the current Damian Wayne Robin happening on the Devil Nezha’s prison.

Then, in “A World Without Clark Kent”—Lois Lane and John Henry Irons race against time to save Thao-La, testing the limits of the mysterious element Genesis!

Looks like Superman’s Authority are quite authoritarian.

At the same time, Midnighter and others hatch a plan with Superman to stop Mongul and the Authority to liberate Warworld.

O.M.A.C. seems to gave doubts over her allegiance and whether Lightray even exists anymore under her dark veneer.

The plan is working until it isn’t.

Gotham Nocturne part 1 of 4: “Overture.”

It’s a new era for the detective of the night as we introduce award-winning new series writer Ram V (Catwoman, The Many Deaths of Laila Starr), and artist extraordinaire Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire, Superman/Batman)! Together, they’ll be turning Gotham into a tragic yet beautiful gothic opera for our eyes and ears to feast on.

Something is terribly wrong with Batman. No matter the tests Bruce takes, nor the numbers he counts, the greatest detective in the world can’t pin down the source of this creeping dread—of his own inner demons and a looming mortality. Meanwhile, real demons roam the shadows as an ancient melody haunts the Gotham night. Here now the curtains rise and as the eerie tune streams in…who is human, who is demon, who is to tell? As Batman investigates the songs and the demons of Gotham, he is forced to confront the oldest question…whether there has been a demon within him all along…and if so, what does it want?…and why hasn’t it taken over yet?

Detective Comics takes a turn to the macabre under its new creative team.

Talia Al Ghul provides a lethal assist, but…

…Batman doesn’t want that kind of help despite his foe not being dead?!

Batman connects with Nightwing which includes a discussion over a cryptic old box he secured at the scene, but it has a modern middle despite not being able to open the box yet.

The villains of this new tale are revealed and…

…are on their way to Gotham City where…

…their welcome mat is paved in blood.

Elsewhere, Batman’s dreams are haunted by Barbatos which…

…jolts Batman away and…

…he sees the box is open revealing it to be a music box?!

The back features James Gordan now that his Joker series has concluded.
