History’s Greatest of All Time with Peyton Manning hits DVD in August

Disc Announcements, News

When did “Goat” go from a term of a player who screwed up a game to “Greatest of All Time?” Nobody was happy to be the Goat of a team in the ’80s. Bill Buckner became the “Goat” when the Redsox lost the World Series to the Mets in ’86. When did Goat become G.O.A.T.? I’m going to guess it happened when LL Cool J came out with his song declaring himself the G.O.A.T. Seemed like the term became one that an athlete and others craved. The History Channel went out to find plenty of G.O.A.T.s in all sorts of fields in an eight episode series. They even hired one of the biggest G.O.A.T.s in football to host with Peyton Manning. He was the quarterback for the Colts and the Broncos. He and a panel get down to the dirty work of finding the greatest. The DVD of the series arrives in August. Here’s the press release from Lionsgate:

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
Two-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning hosts a robust exploration of what makes someone or something the G.O.A.T. — the “Greatest of All Time” — across a wide range of disciplines, from toys, inventions, and sports cars to daredevils and titans of industry. Featuring 8 episodes, each one counts down the 10 most iconic people, places, or things through vigorous debate from experts and analysts (including  Bob Costas, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Rob Parker, Nicole Lyons, Rutledge Wood, and many more).
