SDCC 2023 Solicitations Spoilers Sees New Superman Series Launch!

…Announced at San Diego Comic Con 2023, Kneel before Zod unites the talents of writer (and surprise SDCC panelist) Joe Casey and artist Dan McDaid. The story appears to be set on Krypton, at a time before Jor[-El] and Lara-El detect its imminent destruction…

“General Zod has lost everything—his son, his wife, his empire—to an invading alien armada. Zod uses guerrilla tactics to destroy the invaders, while amassing the tools he’ll need to take his revenge on the family that put him in this position in the first place…the house of El…”
…No official release date has been announced for the series, but DC has given us one tantalizing timeline tip: Casey and McDaid have a story in Action Comics #1060, which will set up Kneel Before Zod. That comic, we know, comes out December 2023.

I did enjoy Jim Lee’s visual take on Zod from 2005’s Superman #213.
Anyhow, how the new Kneel Before Zod series will play into the core DC continuity should prove interesting.
