and a Guy Ritchie Blockbuster
in 4K UHD
On July 30th, Arrow Video presents The Nico Mastorakis Collection in a limited-edition Blu-ray box set. The influential cult film master is back with six films that range from science fiction to Hitchcockian thrillers to comedies and more!   The Time Traveller is a Sci-Fi fantasy that finds a recently widowed astronaut’s wife (Adrienne Barbeau) and son helping a mysterious stranger (Keir Dullea) who has washed ashore on a Greek island. The mother and son soon begin to realize that the stranger is more than he appears. In the thrilling action-comedy Sky High, three college athletes’ vacation takes a terrifying turn when they are handed a mysterious tape that a criminal organization will stop at nothing to obtain. Terminal Exposure brings a touch of Hitchcock, as two photographers accidentally capture a murder on film and pursue the lethal blonde who did the deed. The film features a score by a then-unknown Hans Zimmer. Next up is Glitch!, a screwball comedy that tells the tale of two inept burglars who attempt to throw a party in a Hollywood producer’s luxurious beach house. The party takes a wrong turn when the mob shows up to collect a debt owed them by the producer. In the tradition of Police Academy comes Ninja Academy, a comedy that follows a ragtag group that includes an awkward nerd, a mime, a rich kid, a spy, a survivalist, and two runners who are put to the test as they are trained in the ancient art of ninja! The Naked Truth takes a cue from the Billy Wilder cross-dressing classic Some Like It Hot, with two friends on the run who must dress up as women during a beauty pageant to hide from the mob boss that wants them dead. The only problem – the boss falls for one of them!  Starring Adrienne Barbeau (Escape From New YorkThe Fog), Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible HulkHercules), Billy Barty (The Leprechaun series), M. Emmet Walsh (Raising Arizona), Erik Estrada (C.H.I.P.S.), Bubba Smith (The Police Academy series), Zsa Zsa Gabor (Green Acres), musical legend Little Richard, and more!  The Box Set special features include six interviews with Nico Mastorakis, interviews with stars, original trailers; new writings on the films; and newly commissioned artwork. Watch the trailer for Glitch! here

July 30th marks the release of Howard Hawks’ thrilling drama Red Line 7000 in limited-edition Blu-ray. Filmed at real NASCAR races during the 1965 season, director Hawks (Rio Bravo) brings you closer to the split decisions between glory and death than ever before. Pat Kazarian’s (Norman Alden) racing team is put into disarray with the death of one of his drives at Daytona. The competition heats up as drivers Mike (James Caan, in his first starring role), Ned (John Robert Crawford) and Dan (Skip Ward) all contend with each other on and off the track. Red Line 7000 is a high-octane film that influenced Quentin Tarantino and Francois Truffaut and features early performances by George Takei (Star Trek) and Teri Garr (Mr. Mom).

The Blu-ray special features include audio commentary, new interviews, two new visual essays, image galleries, new writings on the films, a double-sided foldout poster, and newly commissioned artwork.

Also on July 30thGuy Ritchie’s action/adventure reimagining of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. comes to limited-edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray. Director Ritchie brings his signature style to this big-budget adaptation of the iconic 1960s TV series of the same name. Set at the height of the Cold War, Russia and the US are forced to join forces to stop the rise of a new nuclear superpower, teaming up their best agents – the CIA’s Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and the KGB’s Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer). If Solo and Kuryakin can stop trying to kill one another, they might just form an alliance smart enough to stop the supervillain Nazi sympathizers (Elizabeth Debicki and Luca Calvani) from destroying the world. Featuring exotic locales, cracker ack action set pieces, and style to spare, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is Guy Ritchie at his very best. Featuring an all-star cast that includes Cavill (Man of Steel), Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Calvani, Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Jared Harris (Chernobyl), and Hugh Grant (Wonka).

The 4K UHD and Blu-ray special features include a new audio commentary, two new interviews, a featurette on the 1960s TV series, a featurette on director Guy Ritchie, nine archival featurettes, the theatrical trailer, an image gallery, new and archival writings on the films, a double-sided foldout poster, and newly commissioned artwork.

The Nico Mastorakis Collection [Limited Edition]

This collection of six Nico Mastorakis cult classics offer a satirical skewering of American cinema with a chutzpah that must be seen to be believed!

The Nico Mastorakis Collection [Limited Edition]

He’s back! One of the most infamous B-movie maestros to have ever sat in a director’s chair, Nico Mastorakis returns to Arrow Video with a collection of sci-fi shenanigans and screwball comedies that will take you out of this world!

First up, Nico then shows a more thoughtful side in The Time Traveller, where the widow (Adrienne Barbeau, The Fog) of an astronaut and her young son come across a mysterious man (Keir Dullea, 2001: A Space Odyssey) with uncanny powers on a beach in Greece. The wacky Sky High sees three American jocks on holiday in Greece being handed a tape by a mysterious figure, who begs them to not let it fall into the wrong hands before being shot by an unseen assassin. Featuring an early score from the great Hans Zimmer, Terminal Exposure focuses on two carefree beach photographers, who accidentally photograph a murder and immediately set after the assassin: a tall, gorgeous blonde with a rose tattoo on her behind. Glitch! sees two bumbling burglars whose attempt to throw the house party of the century in the luxury home of a Hollywood producer is foiled by a group of mobsters determined to collect what the producer owes them – no matter what. Take a martial arts school, throw in a snotty rich kid, a clumsy geek, a paranoid survivalist, two beach joggers, a cool secret agent and a mime, and you get Ninja Academy, a madcap karate comedy like no other starring Gerald Okamura (Big Trouble in Little China). Finally, in The Naked Truth, Mastorakis pays homage to a certain Billy Wilder film when two friends decide to pass as women and pose as makeup artists for a local beauty pageant to elude a vicious mafia boss. It seems like the perfect cover, until the mafioso gets the hots for one of them!

Zany, shocking and unhinged, Nico Mastorakis offers a satirical and sardonic skewering of American cinema with a chutzpah that must be seen to be believed!

Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) directs and Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) stars in this big screen adaptation of the classic action-adventure TV series.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. [Limited Edition]

With Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, director Guy Ritchie established himself as a master of bravura set pieces and buddy movie banter, before proving he could successfully meld the irreverent spirit with classic properties in his Sherlock Holmes adaptations. Now, Ritchie brings his signature touch to his big-screen translation of the beloved 1960s television spy show, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. 1963: in the thick of the Cold War, roguish CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill, Mission: Impossible – Fallout) forms an uneasy alliance with brooding KGB officer Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer, Call Me by Your Name) to thwart a criminal organization with apocalyptic intentions. The rebellious daughter of a missing nuclear scientist (Alicia Vikander, Ex Machina) is their only ticket inside the sinister ring – but to whom is she truly loyal? A desperate race against time will determine whether the scientist’s atomic research will shatter the delicate balance of power in the world.
