The original early plan for WrestleMania XXX involving the McMahons was Vince McMahon as a face battling a heel HHH for control of WWE. In this proposed storyline, Vince was going to bring back Stone Cold Steve Austin to take on someone of HHH’s choosing. This plan has now been completely scrapped, though some of the elements remain, such as the McMahons uniting right around SummerSlam before splitting apart later on in the year.
CB’s Slant:
The new plan still involves a slow build to a battle of McMahons, according to The Wrestling Observer. However, if Austin is used in any capacity I would hope it would be an exclusive feud with CM Punk, if Austin agrees to it. Besides, Vince and Austin teaming up is never a good idea and fans just don’t like them on the same side (at least I don’t).
Meanwhile, I think that Vince should stay the heel authority figure and that HHH and Stephanie should be the faces in a battle for company control, perhaps with Hunter and Stephanie realizing that Daniel Bryan really could be the face of the company after Bryan wins the Royal Rumble, setting up Bryan vs. Orton for the title at WrestleMania XXX in a title rematch with their shares of the company on the line.
