The creepy prequel to the 2003 remake will be getting the full DVD treatment on January 18, 2007.

Jordana Brewster, R. Lee Ermey, and Andrew Bryniarski star in the film which told the origin of the Hewitt family and how Leatherface came to be.

Not much is known about extras, but one could expect deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes doc and commentary.

When the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre came out on DVD, it got the two-different-versions treatment. A single disc version, and then the ultra 2-disc version full of extras and coming with a metal plate image of Leatherface.

For TCM: The Beginning, there will be an R-rated version and an Unrated version for the not so faint of heart. The packaging for the DVD is even said to be of a flesh-like covering kind of like the Anchor Bay special editions of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead.
